Experimenting with composition, detail and colors. ^^
I recently decided that I should put more detail into my pics. And when I do, I'm a lot happier with the way it comes out. Hehe. There's still not that much detail in this pic, but I hope to change that in the future!
I used a bunch of textures from Pixiv. I also used a Photoshop brush (that brown squiggly thing).

Finally found some free time to sit down, look at the picture and analyze it. Hope you won't mind me being harsh.
Personally I think there is too much on the screen. It seems you didn't put a focus anywhere since my eyes are just jumping all over the picture in confusion. You have to accent over something (the face, an object or a part of the screen) or else the picture will have no impact.
I mean, let's take a few steps out of the picture and consider what is "memorable" about it. That is the problem. It looks "nice" however the moment you go to sleep you will forget what you saw yesterday. Basically start with an idea, like "what will make this picture memorable"? Something that focuses the eye the moment you look at the picture.
Just remember that a focus point needs extreme detail. If everything is detailed, nothing is.
Aside from the lack of focus and too much in the picture.... I guess everything is ok.
Hm.... it needs a "soul" as well.... But discussing what exactly a "soul" means in a picture is something I could write an essay about...
...wish my technical drawing skills were as good as my analyzing ones...
Likewise I wish I had your analyzing skills ;_; Thank you so much, I really appreciate it. This is some really insightful advice and it really means a lot to me that you would take the time to write all this. You're really right, there's nothing memorable about the pic, it just has a bunch of random meaningless details. So I should put some deeper meaning into my pics. Thanks so much for the advice, I seriously cannot thank you enough akldjf;adlkfjaa
